CRISPR/Cas9 system allows us to easily produce GM animals (such as mice, rats, rabbits, and so on.). GM animals are used for 1) investigating the function of gene(s) in vivo, 2) understanding molecular mechanisms of human diseases, 3) establishing new therapies. We are offering the service to produce GM animals with the CRISPR/Cas system. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us here.
We have recently established severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) rats with the genome engineering technique (Mashimo T, Cell Reports 2012). SCID rats are available for the transplantation of human iPS-derived cells or tissues as “humanized animals”.
